October 24th β€’ Global Relations

United Nations Day

On October 24th, 1945, the United Nations Charter came into force, creating the world's most important international organisation. Today, we debate the effectiveness of global diplomacy, the challenges of maintaining peace in a polarised world, and whether the united Nations is actually living up to its name. Is global governance the future of humanity, or should we return to a world of completely independent nation-states?
