World Heart Day
Created by the World Heart Federation, this day informs people around the globe that cardiovascular disease is the world's leading cause of death. Beyond exercise and diet, it is a day to reflect on the societal factors that affect our hearts—from stress in the workplace to the availability of healthy food. Today, we debate whether governments should tax unhealthy foods, the impact of chronic stress, and our personal responsibility to our health.
