Module 3: Digital Work & Client Interaction

Unit 13: Content Scheduling

The Future Tenses (Will, Going To, Present Continuous)

Consistency is your currency.

A successful digital platform requires a steady stream of content to keep subscribers engaged and paying. You can't just post randomly; you must plan a campaign and communicate your schedule. To tell your audience exactly what is coming and when, you must master the differences between the English Future Tenses. A vague intention is very different from a fixed release date.

3. Grammar Mechanics: Which Future?

English has several ways to talk about the future, and using the wrong one can make you sound disorganized. You must choose between a simple promise, a planned intention, and a fixed arrangement.

Future Form When to use it in Business Professional Example
Will + Base Verb Promises, offers, instant decisions, or future facts. (Often used for customer service). "I will send you the link right now."
"The video will be 10 minutes long."
Going to + Base Verb Prior plans and intentions. You have decided to do it, but maybe haven't finalized the exact logistics yet. "I am going to film a new series next month."
Present Continuous
(am/is/are + verb-ing)
Fixed arrangements and confirmed schedules. The date and time are already locked in. "I am releasing the PPV on Friday at 8 PM." (It is already scheduled).

4. Reading: The Strategy Session

Notice how the Creator and Manager use different future forms to discuss their marketing strategy.

Manager: Let's review the schedule for next week. Have you decided on the theme for the new campaign?
Creator: Yes, I am going to film a summer-themed series. I will batch the content this weekend.
Manager: Excellent. When exactly is the main release?
Creator: I am dropping the main video on Friday at 9 PM. It is already in the queue.
Manager: Perfect. That's a fixed arrangement. What about the promotional teaser?
Creator: I will send that out as a mass message on Thursday to hype them up. I'll make sure to say, "Check your DMs for the PPV tomorrow."
Manager: I love it. This consistency will definitely boost your revenue for the month.
