December 1st • Health & Progress
World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day, designated on December 1st every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. Today, we debate the history of the epidemic, the progress of modern medicine in transforming HIV from a fatal diagnosis to a manageable condition, and the ongoing social stigma that remains. How can we ensure global equity in access to healthcare?
