Multiple Personality Day

The masks we wear. Beyond the clinical diagnosis, this day explores the fractured self. This lesson explores the social chameleon—the fact that we are different people at work, with parents, and with lovers. Is authenticity a myth, or is the real you just the sum of all your masks?

  • Who is the real you? Is it the person alone in the shower, or the person performing for society?
  • Is it dishonest to be a completely different person at work than you are at home?
  • How does social media encourage us to create a second personality that is perfect and unreal?
  • Do you think we have a hidden shadow that we are afraid to show even to our closest partners?
  • If you could switch to a different personality for one day, what trait would you adopt (e.g., extreme confidence, cold logic)?

Activity 1: The Persona Audit

The Task: Draw a map of your masks. Describe 3 different versions of yourself. What are the costumes and rules for each version? Explain which one is the most exhausting to maintain.

Activity 2: Rapid Fire Debate

Complete and justify: 1. 'The most dangerous part of my personality is...' 2. 'If society allowed me to be 100% honest for one hour, I would...' 3. 'The version of me that I like the most is the one that...'
