National Dress Up Your Pet Day

The absurdity of affection. This day explores the fine line between cute and cruel. This lesson explores the humanisation of animals and whether dressing a dog in a tuxedo is a sign of love or a disregard for their dignity as a creature.

Why do we feel the need to dress up animals in human clothes? Is it for them or for us?
Does a pet have a concept of dignity or shame? How do you know?
Is humanising animals a way to respect them more, or does it make us ignore their real, wild needs?
