What does it mean?
A take away (or takeaway) is the UK word for a meal bought from a restaurant to be eaten somewhere else - usually at home. It can also refer to the restaurant itself.

Neutral to slightly positive - it implies convenience and not cooking.
When do you use it?
Use it when discussing ordering food to bring home, especially fast food, Chinese, Indian, pizza, or similar.
Examples
Example 1: I'm too tired to cook. Shall we get a Chinese take away tonight
Example 2: There's a great Indian take away just round the corner.
